At Ascension Parish in Chesterfield.
Ascension Employment Network (AEN), founded in 1990 and now known as the Ascension Chapter of Catholic Employment Network (CEN), offers guidance and support for job seekers in their efforts to find permanent employment, focusing on maintaining three primary tools:
GROUP COACHING AND SUPPORT: The Ascension Chapter holds job support group meetings the second and fourth Mondays of each month from 7-9pm in the basement of the Ascension Little Church. During the meetings participants will be provided job search tips, support during their job search, feedback on their resume and cover letters, networking opportunities and one-on-one coaching. Whether you are unemployed or under-employed all are welcomed to attend and benefit from coaching and support.
E-MAIL: Several times a week, the Ascension Chapter informs all CEN members of potential job opportunities, networking events, and job search-enhancing do’s and don’ts.
WEB SITE: Members are encouraged to put together a Mini Resume for Ascension's Mini Resume Directory website: www.aen.mustbehere.com. The Mini Resume is a brief description of your critical resume information for prospective employers - your skills, accomplishments, position desired and contact information. In order to participate, a copy of your resume must be submitted to Ascension. The Web site is updated periodically.
Membership to the Ascension Chapter is open to all; just sign up for e-mails at www.catholicemploymentnetwork.org.
The Ascension Chapter Office, located in the basement of the Ascension Little Church, is open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. However, it's advisable to call before you drop by.
DO YOU HAVE JOB OPPORTUNITIES TO SHARE? Ascension parishioners and friends with job opportunities at their place of business are encouraged to consult with Ascension Chapter contacts to include in e-mails to members.
